Finally got out!

Made the ice this morning on lake rico and lo and behold what do I catch first, a CATFISH? ??? never catch them in the summer. but was a nice way to start. Caught 7 bass all 1-2lbs, 3 picks, 2 perch jigging, a crappie and the cat. Felt good to get out there before work and with all this x-mas rushing around needed some good fishing time. Gonna try and get out tommorow as well haven't decided where yet. Just glad the ice is here to stay for awhile ;D

Nice catch Keith - I bet it felt good to bend that jigging rod again. I will try the ice Fireline this year on mine with a fluorocarbon leader.  - Porter

I remeber a few decembers ago I headed deep into the berkshires to find ice. I ended up at Thousand Acre Swamp in New Marlboro. Long day with no flags. Finally, I get one as evening comes. And low and behold, it was a decent size bullhead!! I laughed as I never expected to start the ice season that way. But I have caught a few over the years through the ice.
