« on: Mar 11, 2013, 10:35 AM »
What do you guys think about using shanty for summer time fishing reports? Really enjoy reading all the reports and looking at all the pictures.

I like shanty a lot more than fish finder. Just seems easier to navigate and runs smoother. Mobile version is much better also.   Just my 2 cents.

Ditto, Shanty is much easier to deal with, maybe have a softwater thread at top of page

Agreed!  I have tried setting up an account on MFF for the last week and it constantly denies me and says I didn't answer the security questions correctly??  Not sure why but its annoying.  Any body else have problems getting on there?

I tried all last year and was never able to get an account. I haven't tried this year yet. Anybody that was able to get an account have any tips on how to get through or is it just luck of the draw?

Ok cool. Glad to hear others feel the same as I do. Myfishfinder has always been a pain in the u know what. Shanty is so well set up and we are all familiar with this site so why not? Hope to hear from all of you year round and see more great pics and videos throughout the summer. Iceshanty4life:-)

I'm in for using IS for warm weather fishing info.  I also tried several times to set up a myfishfinder account and got the same error as mentioned above.  I also tried emailing the "help" feature on the site and my email was eventually returned undelivered.  Not sure what us up with myfishfinder.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth; and it was good.  A couple of days later God created the fish, animals and the birds, which was also good.  An indeterminate time later, the US Congress created the endangered species act, and things have never been the same since.

I've been watching the posts in this topic today. I've never been an active fan of MFF because of logging in issues. A couple hours ago I tried to log into MFF and it told me 6 consecutive times that my password was incorrect and then accepted it on the 7th try. Annoying!! There is talk over there about this thread, so I commented in a post and came back over here. Personally, I would love to use this one forum year round. One forum to use all year just makes more sense to me. My hardwater season is not over yet, so I'll still be active until it ends. I'll definitely be lurking around on this forum throughout the summer to see how much activity there is. Take care & good luck to everyone thru the year!!

I think its the way your answering the security question, the answer to one of the question is fishusa, lowercase all one word. Inevitably all three sites die at certain times of the year. My fish finders not so bad, it just doesn't get the traffic that ice shanty gets.

Some people just prefer ice to open water.

I have been on both for some time now and there is definitely less traffic on MFF.  People are also much tighter lipped about open water fishing than hard water, both on the forums and in person(this has been my personal experience).

I'll be moving back to MFF over the next month.

It says I answered the security question wrong it may be because I do all of this on my phone but I had no problem with IS and never have

Yeah I was looking at some of the old threads on MFF and it seems like less people post and when they do its not nearly as often. Maybe it was just the threads I was looking at but I don't think it's near as active as IS

In the winter, a lot of guys are laid off so they have more time to fish and post. In the open water season, eople are back to work and don't fish and post as much.
