Try contacting strikemaster and see if you can purchase the auger assembly on it's own. I know that you can with Eskimo and Jiffy.

All the strikemaster drill units are interchangeble.  Just buy a new drill unit

Just curious...why you changing??  I'm thinking of going the other way...changing the 10" bit to the 8" bit to save a couple pounds...

Why do you want to switch? 8" is plenty big for any fish. If you do switch, PLEASE MARK YOUR HOLES WELL. 2 Years ago my son stepped into a 10" hole and went in up to thigh, Lost his boot on way out. Trip over.  He was 12 at the time. Also saw a young woman hurt her leg when she stepped into a larger hole. Alot of guys I see used 10 inch and went to 8 later. I fished with a 6" for many years with no problems.  Only reason I went bigger is because I found a like new Jiffy 30 for 60 bucks.  Steve

your in Central MN, Strike Master is in Big Lake, right on Highway 10.  Honestly, they have awesome customer service there.  They have tuned mine up, replace a screw that the head was stripping on, and wouldn't let me give them a dime last time I was there.

Sounds like kenman and mnwalleyehunter need to get together for a trade. Wont cost either one a dime. Except for shipping of course.
