let us pray

ok we got opening weekend of duck season under our belts,(had a great hunt wish you were there). and now it is time to pray to whoever you call god. please bring on the cold i got an itch that only a flying flag, or a big gill in a little hole can scratch

crappy warm and windy and dry weather.  keeping the fall bite moving along with pike and bass in area ponds which is fun.  I'm ready to walk on those ponds though.  Ice fishing seems a long way off right now.  I'm still golfing.

Looks like a high of 70 for the nexty week around here.  Nights getting into the 40s at best.  I'm still confident we'll be out there early december.

I think I've witnessed an event that's going to give great insight into the coming weather patterns:

I showed the wife the St. Paul ice fishing show info and she says "Hey!  That could be fun!  We should go to that and get a hotel and hang out that weekend"  So...it's obvious to me....

...if hell has frozen over, how long can it possibly take until that kind of cold reaches the surface of Earth?

I hate to be the odd man out but I don't want the cold just yet, the Missouri River is finally accessible and I found a ramp to get the boat in (it's 30 miles away on the Iowa side but oh well). The wife and I have been hammering big Channel Cat this past week and I'm going to spend the week end out camping on the river with the whole family so hold off on the cold for at least another month while I stock the freezer. It was a long summer with the flooding and no river to fish.

 I ran that idea by my wife and it resulted in 3 hours of shopping for drapes......

OK....so the ATV battery is dead from sitting all summer.  That is being done this weekend and I'm going river riding on the Racoon River in IA on Sunday after the hawkeye homecoming.   I hope we don't have "dual epic fail" this weekend.  Need a few decent days this weekend.  No cold yet....but after that, I need snow for pheasant opener...but that looks remote at best...as usual.  But I'm not giving up. Did the Germans give up after they bombed Pearl harbor?  He11 no!!!!!

Yes Lord...... 26 today even in South east NE.

But next week back to 50s at night and 70s during the day..Pray harder.. Keep the warm weather demons away... :-\
