Correct me if I am wrong but is that a land locked Salmond?

22" inch salmon. I caught him on a tipup 1ft below the ice on a medium icicle on the last day of icefishing last year on the king. He put up a heck of a fight.

I was not sure if it was the "King" or a "Lure"... I have never fished on the King how is it over all? Also what can the average ice angler except to catch or see pulled onto the ice by someone?

Slipbob

Do they use specific baits to catch Lake trout or Salmon? Do a lot of folks fish for Perch there? The last one what's the average size perch one might be able to ice? :)

Well, Slipbob

Your right about the questions and thanks for answering all of them.... Also you are very correct about me fishing Brant last year if was a lot of fun... If I can remember I think you have a Nils Master Auger? I cannot weight to fish the King this year.... If I start walking from Lancaster, Pa now I might make it there in time for 1st ice?  Hey thanks again for all of the good advise and taking the time out to help old Mole!....

Nice fish adkRoy, I got lucky and caught 4 last year, all just underneath the ice.  2 short ones (15 and 17 inches) went back and a 24" and 21" got set on the dinner table.  Can't wait until this year.

I would love to catch one of these bad boys.... Will the Salmon hit smelt? Or do they like plain old minows?

Morroco mole Set you tip-up just below the ice with a medium icicle or shiner. Don't use smelt it is illegal. On lake George last year the Encon officers were out in force last year and you don't want to take a chance.

My brother was lucky enough to catch an 18 inch salmon also. He is having his mounted. His foul hooked in the gills so he kept his.  I caught and released my salmon.

You had me all excited when I saw the LG conditions tread was being used though someone might be telling us what the current water temp was and such.

No, I think it is going to be a while for LG to freeze. I'm just getting ready for it, going through last years photographs from there.

Probably because most of the info did not relate to current reports / conditions of Lake George
