jigging brush piles
« on: Feb 05, 2013, 09:23 AM »
just a little tip that i have been keeping to myself for a while.. as we all know jigging around brush, trees, stumps ect tends to result in  a lot of lost jigs whether in open water or through the ice. about 20 or so yrs ago my daughter was wearing braces and i got the idea to use the rubber bands in order to made my jigs weedless. simpley take the orthodontic rubber band and stretch it between the hook eye and the barb this results in a weedless jig and doesnt interfere with hook sets. i catch a lot more fish than my buddies doing this but now the cats out of the bag i,m going to get some static no doubt. lol hope this helps
