My buddy and I got 4 splake and a salmon up there last week.  We dropped down from a wide area in the shoulder where we parked on 201.  Ice was 20"+ thick, but that was a week ago.  I've heard the ice in the main channel can go downhill fast.

Since Rainbows are Spring spawners, maybe you could get one at a tributary mouth?  Thing about that is the ice could be dicey there.  Good luck!
