Try a computer repair shop. Everyone I've been in have hundreds of them laying around.

i got mine off ebay $5 for a 100cfm 12 v fan  took 3 days to get it by mail but save a bunch off of retail.  the other trouble that i found is that not all of these things are made the same fans that look nearly identical to the eye were varied in cfm from 25 to 125. just my .02

The processor cooling fans in most computers are 12v dc.

For computer fans I would check out http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=573&name=Case-Fans
Definitely make sure you check out the CFM rating before you buy. The higher the better (but it's usually louder)

Computers plug into the wall but they have a power supply that converts everything to 12v and 5v. the fans run off 12v
