JigAwhopper brought up a good point about the temps expected for Saturday. The weather forecast is saying in the 40's. There will undoubtably be alot of slush on top of the ice by mid day. Make sure you all have waterproof boots .... especially the kids !

Hey Cory, the rough count looks to be around 60 members attending, but it could be more or less depending on how many will actually show up. It's shaping up great

I am trying to figure out the contest. Do we have to fish in River Styxx or can we fish anywhere on the lake that we want?

Some of us are confused. (Mainly New Guy, and Myself)

My understanding is you can fish anywhere on the lake you want, but you have to start out at River Stix. This is to prevent people from leaving and going to other lakes to get tourney winning fish and then coming back. I'd assume since you have to start from River Stix that you'd have to be parked in 1 of the lots right by there as well.

Personally there are other places on the lake I'd like to fish but since I have no snowmobile or ATV to get there, and that'd be an awfully long walk with the gear, I'll end up fishing not too far from the marina at River Stix.

Mike has it right you have to start at River Styx and here is an earlier reply to this question:

To keep everything on the up and up and fair you would have to either walk or use a quad/snowmobile. There have been other tourneys where people have driven away, fished another lake/pond and returned to enter their catch.

On another note I copied the minimum size limits on our category fish for Lake Hopatcong (NJ Regs) :

Perch, Bluegill .............. no min size

Crappie ...................... 8" min size

Chain Pickeral .............. 15" min size

Lgmth Bass ................. 12" min size

Hybrid Bass .................. 16" min size

Walleye ...................... . 18" min size

If you're carrying you entry to the "measuring station" and a warden is checking it has to be the minimum length even if you are releasing at the "release hole".
