Title: High Point State Park
Post by: HomerJay on Dec 10, 2005, 10:44 AM
I am from deerpark ny right on the jersey border.  I was wondering if anyone fish's in high point.  I wanted to know what is caught out of there and if it is worth getting my nj fishing licence.

hey ive fished highpoint for years, its not that bad cause it usually has the first ice in nj, anyway i would say it is a fair ice fishing lake, but its not worth getting your nj liscence, if your from deerpark ny, youd be much better off goin to highland lake, im sure u know where that is. but if u do end up gettin your licscence, high point has perch, pickeral, bluegill, bass etc. ive also seem someon get an eel through the ice there, anyway hope that helps

there are trout in there, not in abundance though, when i think of trout lakes i think of like lake aeroflex or something that is known specifically for trout, but they are there if u can find them lol
