Tell me what this is

 ??? Anybody know what kind of fish this is? Caught it on the Blackstone river. One of the best things bout the river is anything could be on the end of your line.. I've got large and small mouths, seen 3 ft pike and carp pics and trout just to name a few..also caught a small all white fish kinda looked like like a salmon but I'm not 100% unfortunately I don't have a pic of that but somebody tell me what this is so I can say I caught it!

Ahh the hard to catch Red X fish.  Think that may be a state record  ;D

I do it all the time when posting pictures too.  Did you click on the Mona Lisa under the Bold(B)?

Thanks guys we hit 2 of them that day and we never saw them again... Made it out to the Blackstone river in a canoe today me and my buddy both got skunked but to be in a boat in January is a beautiful thing fish or no fish... Anybody here fish the stretch near Madeira ave in central falls?

I used to catch those in the blackstone behind stop and shop...and old timer called them Dace.

I looked up dace before I posted the thread and I didn't think they matched up..the only red on my catch was on its face... Ok cool guys so is it a fall fish, a chub, a sucker, or a dace??? I understand its not the biggest deal but still, I wanna know what this lil dude is lol

Is the mouth fish like or is it more like a round mouth point downward? If it's round facing down it's a Sucker...By the look of the color and the scales it's either a Sucker or a Carp...

fallfish and chub are the same thing. looking back both us Mainers that replied said chub, that's just what we call them up here, they are very common in our rivers. I catch them a lot fly fishing.
