I have had my best luck " running and gunning" perch with small jiggin raps and small blade baits like cicadas. Fish a hole aggressivly for 15-20 min, if nothing move on, if you get a few, then work the whole area and maybe set tip ups if you think you found the school. Otherwise keep moving and pick off the aggressive fish.

Before the days of the flasher it was drill 5 holes, jig them for 15 or 20 SECONDS then repeat until you find what you're looking for. Now we just drop the transducer until we find what we're looking for.I guess we all have different methods but personally I couldn't fish a hole that long (I'm waaaaay to impatient).

Set up shanty and camera. Set tip ups. 2 augered holes at each tip up. Use big bait. Fish from shanty and chase false flags on tip ups , jigging the 2nd hole for the jacks!!! Big bait = big fish. Larger perch can't eat the big bait but they usually trip the flag.

I've caught a lot of fish, when jigging next to my tip ups
Having some sort of GPS, to mark hot spots helps also.
Good luck

Depends on where you are fishing.... I have had great success with Slender Spoons tipped with minnow heads on some lakes, and other lakes want smaller presentations....

If the King is safe I don`t have to move much.
