In no particular order,
- Hali with dropper chain treble bead, blue white/glow yellow/silver, size 25 and 35
- 5mm Russian tungsten jig (imported from EU), silver and copper, used with a mini nuggie (chart.).  This is my palm rod setup, just look at my picture.
- Jigging rap 2 and 3, glow tiger, perch, ghost
- ficious jigs, lil minnies, green glow

but the best method >>... perch rig (winter drop shot rig)... 1/8 or 1/4 weight on the bottom (depending on depth), with two hooks (#10 octopus or mosquito) above 12 inches apart.  This is my dead sticking rod.  Best of all you can use plastic eggs, or fin-s minnows or live minnows.

I have tried my Hali jig but have not had much luck with it. Never used Ficious jigs before, might give them a try.

I've always done very well with a Sweedish Pimple and a small kastmaster.  Last year I got Lindy's rattlin flyers but didn't get to use them.  All the reviews I've read were good, has anyone used them?  The ones I got are the 1/8th ounce six pack from Cabela's.

i use the actual hali jig. not the knockoffs.i like the ones that flare out in the middle and have 3 sets of red dots down the middle. i also use the kodiak jigs. there just like a hali but with a stronger but more rigid droper chain.

Here is a link:

http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=14402.0

Scroll down to the picture (middle way down), it's labelled Nils Master Hali.  The one in the picture is the 25mm.  It is heavy enough to be dropped down to 30ft+.  I personal change the hook to a beaded treble, and sometime use a plastic honey worm or maggot.

Here are some example of the beaded trebles..

I found the red glow hali works wonders for me but my favorites in order would be:
1) buckshot rattle spoon (silver or gold)
2) hali spoon (red glow)
3) thumper jig and half minnow (green and black)
4) whistler jig with gulp minnow (white glow)
5) hook line sinker with a lot of maggots

i catch most of my perch using a search lure setup i got from in-fisherman. a small spoon (minus the treble) with a 2"-3" dropper to a tiny jig. mostly i use the smallest kastmaster in perch color with a 1/32 rat finkee on the dropper, but this year i'm more likely to use a silver spoon and a CJ&S Purest or the smallest perch forage minnow and a CJ&S gill pill.

other favorites are frostee jigging spoons, diamond jigs, and jammin jigs perch eyes

Fishing is a sport in which thinking is involved it is the covenant between nature and man, mother and son. Through fishing only can we recreate the link that has been tarnished throughout the existence of the modern era of mankind. Fishing is the answer yet people ignore it and consider it a "stupid" thing to do. What do these people do instead? They stare in front of color changing boxes. Is that life? My life is fishin

i have caught more perch on the medium sized perch pattern hali tipped with two spikes than any other ice jig. you can fish it shallow or very deep. and pike will smash it too. even if they aren't hitting it very well it gets the perch's attention and brings them in so you can try something else. one of the reasons i really like it is because its heavy enough to bounce bottom every now and then to send up a small mud cloud to draw more fish in. also have caught smelt with this lure

The two I use most are 1/10 oz silver Swedish Pimple and Mudbug (usually green, size 8).

Those fat head jigs look pretty neat.  Are they a tungsten jig?  Where did you find them?  I googled it and only found some on ebay that were already sold.

Thanks for the help,

pannyjigger.

Slab grabber
Kens spoon
Glow buckshot rattle spoon
Jigging rap

That's all i need for jumbos. Smaller fish? I use various jammin jig products cause they r cheap and really nicely made.

Hali tipped with spikes are deadly. The weight of them getsthem down fast and churns the bottom to create excitement.
