new clam plate coming today!

Hi guys like the title says I ordered a clam plate and Nils adapter. I am looking at the instructions on the Clam website.

My question is what happens when the drill chuck becomes loose? Does the auger fall off? I do not see any safety strap to hold it. Has to be something I am missing here

looking at it more closely looks like there is a c clip that goes on top of the adapter that hold the adapter to the plate?

Yeah theres a clip.your auger will be secure if drill chuck comes loose.im on 3rd year with no issues.

Step 3 shows the C-clip ...EZPZ assembly ..tip is to keep the trigger pull level w/the plate and the trigger paddle assembly  90 deg to the base plate

Another tip ..adding a Castration band..available at TSC or a rubber ring/washer will take up the slop in the trigger

If you buy them at TSC ..package is 50 or 100 get yourself a funnel and you can use them to to hold yourreel onto your rod

Google the clam plate spring mod, you will be much happier with the feel of the trigger once you do that mod. It works great and makes it much more user friendly.
