Had a lot of water on top of the ice at 7am this morning..bring mucks or you will have wet feet. I fished Briggs for a couple hours, managed to catch 5 more strippers to add to Chaumont catch..tje lake looks to be in ruff shape. Going to freeze on evenly now..

well what i found on short drive today shore line is poor where there is ice , snow on top cant see weak or bad areas and from mid lake east is wide open.....

Thanks even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while , but I can’t take credit for finding them as my bud got a 2 hr head start

Just got back from Syracuse west open for 1/4 mile snowing and blowing

I drove the whole lake on Monday coming home from Chaumont. The red line represented open water from my prospective..I also got to fish Briggs bag for an hour or so and did well on perch.. Ice was 4" there with open pockets of water around. Only went out 1/4 mile.

I drove down south shore today. Open water from Muskrat bay to Long point. Lots of wet areas before the open water. We need extreme cold!!!

Sorry to hear about your wife and shoulder F/R I see guys are getting um. I need to make a pilgrimage to Oneida lake soon. Hopefully I'll be able to after the first of February

Wind shifting to west at 20 mph. People on ice of sylvan beach. If there is open water out there, I would think that ice would be buckling and popping.
