anybody fishing after this snow please be careful of old drain holes.....there are plenty of them out there and they will skim over and be covered with snow......and some are pretty large........access at Lewis was 3" - 5" of water for about 60 feet then fine....not sure about other access points

We r out off sylvan right now been here since sunrise.. as,scout said plenty of nasty drainholes that u can walk right into and this inch or two is covering them up well.. they are scattered about all over so use extreme caution. As for the fishing two of us limited on nice eyes picking away at them most of the day and the perch are cooperating also.. tons of ice out here still and shore had a touch of water on the top this,a.m

Hello all,
I’m from downstate and thinking  about trying Oneida for the first time and making the drive up. Can anyone recommend some public access places to get on that are close to decent fishing grounds? I don’t have a wheeler so I’d be walking to wherever I decide to go.
Thanks,
PLG

I had to skip the sled on and off a bit tonight in Cleveland. The water came up a lot so there is a gap between the shore and the ice in a lot of spots. Some spots you can still get on just fine.

I only fished for the last hour and it was good. 2 keeper eyes, 3 shorts, 2 nice perch and a few small ones.

Hopefullly it gets cold tonight to slow the bleeding down some.

Lake level chart shows it is up about 7 inches between the 19 th and 21 st. Has not updated yesterday yet.  Shoreline ice will suffer... be careful

Chittenango Creek enters the lake in Maple Bay, one bay west...that area never looks very safe...open water at times...especially early and late season.

Hope all's well. Not a good sign, be safe out there fellas...

It was a beautiful day on the ice. The eyes were not cooperating but I squeaked out 1 keeper and pile of 10"ers. Kept 30 perch betweeen 2 of us.

The ice was ~14" and it stiffened up at sunset because it dipped below freezing. It is down to 30 right now on the north shore.

Accessed the ice at the beach and that was easy on and off.

Today's pull.  Tomorrow depending on how hard it's raining will be my last day on oneida ice.  It was a grind.  Ice is getting soft.  Looking at the temps boats will be out by the 10th.
