Same here tonight. One nice eye, cruising 8’ down over 29’. 3 decent perch and some shorts. That was all. Dead at dark.

Wet on top but ice is in great shape.

I don't post much but I got out today, nice to fish in a t shirt for an hour or so around noon. Got a few perch some short eyes and a nice ling. I kept the ling to try. Wow is all can say.... delicious!!!! Boiled in lemon juice and old bay then sautéed in garlic butter... Now that's some good eats!

What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? He!!  no!

Headed up tonight for a long weekend.  We have camps on the east end and fish a lot in the spring/summer but haven't been out on the ice in many years.  Would someone mind telling me if we can park at Taft Bay Park or I am told there is a roadway to the West of it where you can drive down to park and then take a trail through the woods for lake access?  Thank you in advance!

Any opinions on if wheelers will be ok tomorrow morning? Hoping whatever mess is on top will freeze tonight. Will shoreline be weak from rain and warm temps?

Another slow morning for me. Took about 10 moves to land on fish. Ended with 2 keepers and one just short. Eyes were high in the water column, perch on the bottom. I made up my mind I wasn't going to clean perch today, kinda wish I hadn't because after a bunch of 8 inchers early some chunks moved in.

Lots of water on top. One spot had such a whirlpool going I couldn't fish it. Old holes in those areas are opened up enough to be dangerous for walkers. Gonna be slick tomorrow when it sets up so bring your creepers.

Yes it firmed up after sundown. Another rough go for me today as well. Got 2 keepers and dropped my third at the hole this morning. Went back out this evening to try to get my third and survived the wind somehow. Marked a few but no takers.  Beautiful sunset tonight.

My fishing buddy thinks the water will be to stained on the north shore, east end area of the lake for Sunday's fish. I didn't think it is anything to worry about, but he's old and doesn't believe me. What's the rest of the world think?

The water is not very stained. We didn't get much rain so there was not a ton of runoff yet...

I wouldn't let stained water hold you back anyway.

Yep. Water clarity is very dependent on location still. I covered about 2 miles on the NE end yesterday. Hit clear water, white murky water and straight brown water.

I wouldn't let that stop you. It's not like the heavy runoff time yet where its chocolate milk for miles and you've got a current.

And even then. The fish still bite.

I would rather fish stained water than gin clear water. Always seem to do better fishing stained. I’m not talking chocolate milk either

Saw a guy get his sled into some deep water and slush out of apps this morning, looked knee deep at least maybe waste. He got pulled out and dragged back. Be careful
