Got on some hard water today

Was up at O-darkthirty and headed out with Banman1960 in search of some ice. 2hrs later we found some safe ice and punched some holes. Overall a pretty good morning, 1st flag pretty much as soon as I set it and then steady action the rest of the morning. I jigged up about 10 and Banman got 5 of his own, the rest came on the Indian Hills. Great to see all the guys out there today, I won't say names cause a certain someone's wife didn't know he was out LOL but you know who you are.

Be smart and be safe, some guys showed up and just ran out into the middle of the lake cause they saw us on it and never even bothered to check. Then used their circa 1925 ice chisel to continuously bang on the ice 400 times for each hole.  What an annoyance and when they started punching holes in our spread, the day was done. Use common courtesy guys and be smart about checking the ice.

Looks like a good trip. Scary the lack of common sense out there. Atleast you didnt have to fish them out of the pond.

Nice looking fish! Congrats!

When I found ice last weekend, there were already a couple of guys out there, of course I'm not trusting their judgement, so I had the chisel on the way out. I noticed that their "chisel" was a gas auger. Look! Ice! Let's just start drilling!  ::)

If those guys that were doing it read this board, I hope that they just learn some respect for others who were there well before them and to not "sneak" into the area we or anyone else is covering already. There was a HUGE section of the like all for them to hit....no reason to be sitting on our laps.

I can't take it much longer all these post have recently have given me the itch in a bad way to go find some ice. Looks like I will be buddying up and taking a ride.
