I think the best you can do is ATVs here...safety is biggest reason and only some lakes allow it so be aware of regs and use common sense
A bad day of fishin is still better than a good day at work!!

We have a list of waters where snowmobiles and ATV's can be driven on the ice in the Fishing Guide, http://www.outdoornebraska.ne.gov/fishing/guides/fishguide/pdf/FishGuide.pdf, page 26.

Other than that it is NOT allowed on public waters.

And you need to be very careful!  McConaughy is large enough and wind-swept enough that ice conditions can vary dramatically even during a cold winter.

I've been told by several game wardens that all lakes have opened up to atv travel but it didn't make the latest edition of the fishing rule book. Are you telling me that isn't so?

If ice allows it, I plan on utilizing the 3 Wheeler more this year.

Game and Parks is one thing

NRD is another.  Contact the NRD district to find out about atv use on ice, remember, G&P doesn't own everything and rules change because of it.  They have a nice list put together for G&P lakes in their guide book you can get for free on the internet but if you don't already have one, you should probably get one from walmart... they're free so you can't beat that.

do some google searching to find the right NRD to contact per lake... there is a site that I can not find at this time that breaks down the state into the proper districts with contact information for each one.

Good luck and DON'T BE STUPID! there is enough of that going around LOL

Yes, like OKCableGuy said, be careful. Being legal won't keep you and your equipment from sinking ! :o  Happy Trails! :)

Natural Resource District, NRD, contacts can be found here, http://nrdnet.org/find-your-nrd.php .

Don't expect to drive on many of the NRD reservoirs, and most of them are small enough that you will not need to drive on them.
