Access at Magic/ Hot Springs Landing

Planning on going to Hot Springs Landing in am. How is it getting onto the ice now? Last weekend there was about 3' of open water but there was a log to walk across, anyone been there this week?

Its good.  Was single digits this morning.  Will be there again in the morning.  Look for  the guy in blue suit

Mooseymo, only one fish till 2:30 when the fog finally burned off and then BAM! Just like the switch was turned on and we caught 5 or 6 in an hour and man were they big. My nephew had a blast and the best part was he didn't want to eat any so we turned them back.
Glad to finally meet you, did you guys go to the dam or east side? I saw you left early.

Yea we went over by the resort.  we did good on perch and a few trout over there.  Sounds like I should have stayed a little longer at the hot springs.  It was nice to meet you too.  Might be back up there again sun maybe see you again

I like hearing the words "good on perch" but by that what did you mean in size and quantity? This is very exciting for us perch hunters!

Mostly quantity but got 18 keepers in about 4 hours

Mooseymo, I am on call next weekend so I won't get to go- save some for me

Fishfinder, I had the best luck with just nightcrawler and power bait nuggets-didn't matter what color

Main body of the lake is wide open.

2 dogs and Mossymo.  I was out there Saturday as well.  We were the first group on the ice.  Sorry I missed out on meeting you.  I didn't do much socializing Saturday.  I got 9 while everyone else in my group goose-egged.  Don't know why......  I tried to get them into fish.

Boy I was surprised when I showed up that you were there.  Im usually the first on the ice.  We got a few trout early them went to the other end and got some more trout and a good bunch of perch.  Lots of little guys but left with 18 keepers in just under 4 hours. Got perch up to 10" was surprised of the quality this year.  Nice to meet you 2dogs.  Sounds like we left the hot springs to soon.
