Lowrance Elite 5 HDI

I just got my Elite 5 HDI today and hooked up the ice kit and all seems to work well, except I tested it out (in my house) and when the transducer is about 3 feet from the floor, the unit reads 9 or 10 FOW.  Is this just because I'm in my house, or does something need adjusting?

Also, I was reading that people have downloaded updates for these.  How do I do that?

I had the same thing happen and called lowrance.  It goes off sound waves and sound travels 3 times faster in air than in water so your readings would be correct. Definitely did the same thing you did. Once you get it dialed in you will love it
