Ol'Crawdad just got one the other day.
I fished with him on Sunday, and the machine is pretty cool.
I have an FL-18, but was still very impressed.
Shoot him a PM and he'll give you the lowdown.

That's what I paid at Cabela's. It came with everything including a soft pack case. It seemed like a lot of features for a good price to me. I will shoot him a pm. Thanks

;DI recently got mine from REED'S,still waiting for some ice to try it out.Iread on one of the sites that you can order a float from a velixar and use it on the x-67.It gets rid of the metal bracket. If you have a x-67 ,go to lowrance site and download the simulatar.                            SE YOU ON THE ICE   ART

 Hey Britlab...

No need to be sorry as I was just having fun with a topic that usually generates a lot of discussion about the pros and cons of the different flashers and lcrs.
If you want to read more one the subject go to the top of the page, click on tips and go to electronics.
Good fishin...let us know how you like your new toy.

i got one last week, and so far i like it a lot. i've only had it out once, but it was very nice to have it. we didn't catch squat that day, and wasn't really marking anything, but i guess it can't mark what isn't there. i can't wait to see it in action with some suspended crappies! really looking forward to that, but i guess it's up to me to find em first....  ::)

Had one for two years now and I love it.  I wouldn't have a clue and don't want one on all the features but I read enough of the manual to set it up for the ice and it works great.  I usually fish two holes about 5' apart and it will show both jigs at 20 feet.  I don't know how long the battery lasts but I used it for about 6 hours the other day, left it on for several more and then just left it on all night.  It was still on at 4:00 am with 10.5 volts left on the battery.  I just wish someone would make a good charger for these 12v batteries that has an automatic shutoff.  I hate it when they say "hook the charger up but do not overcharge the battery"  ??? How do I know if I'm over charging it when it has no indication if it is even charging?  You will probably like the x67.
Here fishy fishy fishy, I don't want to hurt you, I just want to catch you!

I got mine last nite. What is the proper way to rig up the foam float to the transducer. My package didn't come with the swing out arm, but I did get the metal rod that's used for attaching the transducer to the arm.

The arm isn't missing, it wasn't included on this particular kit. I came with a transducer float instead.

I'm having trouble with mine.  It seams that whenever I fish with someone else who has a vexlar it really messes mine up bad.  I went for smelt with Zach last night and tested it out.  My finder worked fine when his was off, but as soon as his was on it was all over the place.  The x67c couldn't even find bottom.  Has anyone else had this problem?

Ok, thx billybono.  I was getting a little worried because the last time I used it was at the tupper lake get together and it was messing up all day.  I couldn't get far enough away to make a difference, but I think that was because we were in deep water, and there must have been 5 or more vex's on at any given time.

Here is something to try if using an x67c and it is version 1.6.0. Ping speed on high, scroll speed on high, noise rejection on high, surface clarity on high, auto sensitivity off, auto depth range on off,and set sensitivity on about 90%. If your unit is using version 1.4.0 send it in for an upgrade to 1.6.0 or above if they have a newer one now. I got these settings from a person that has done a lot of expermenting with the x67c. I don't have this unit but I would like to know how these settings work for you. He also suggests using it in graph mode and not in flasher mode.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

After using a Vexilar FL 8 for over 7 years, I decided to try new technology with the Lowrance X67c Ice Machine. When I finally received my new "toy", I studied the booklet so I knew how to operate the finder on the ice. I watched the DVD that accompanied the X67c several times, hoping it would show me how to use the unit ice fishing. As a scientist teacher for 35 years, I was very disappointed with what this DVD had to offer me as to how to start out using this ice fishing. I tried the X67c twice and sent it back today and ordered the Vexilar FL 18. While using this ice fishing, the depth would jump from 14.7-16.3 feet and the flasher jumping back and forth to the point where it drove you crazy. It was very hard to detect fish and several times I caught fish that did not show up on the flasher. This would never happen with the ole Vexilar and I am certain not with the new FL 18 that is coming. I researched this product on the web and liked what it was suppose to offer but, after trying it in the field, I was glad that I had the option of returning-two very frustrating fishing trips that I had great expectations for. how did ya have it set up? auto depth range or manual? also where was the sensitivity set? if oits too high, weeds and fish could actually change the bottom reading.....i wont be going back to vex thats for sure  ;)
