GOT ICE (still)
« on: Mar 25, 2018, 12:20 PM »
Wasn’t expecting to find as much ice as I did down here, between 15-17” tho it is starting to saturate.
Found a few smallies, hoping next week I can mount an assault on some crappie for season closer.

Those smallies are fun on a jig "stick". I still can't get myself to use that jigging rap. I tried it first time I got one and had a swallow & a dead fish. I have three or four in the box.
Probably one of these days I'll get desperate on a slow day and drop one down again. They are deadly on those bass.

We still have ice but its pretty mealy right now. Only the south shores are accessible without planks, north are melting fast.
Stay after those slabs while you can.

They sure are fun!!
That’s actually a sebille vibrato blade bait. Fortunately,I haven’t had any issues with the trebles on tip and tail. This things killer on active crappie as well.

Does anyone know about ice on Lake St. George at the State Park?
