There was a ton of ice last weekend. Will be even more now. Just watch the edges.

Remember your safety is in your own hands.

Everything stayed locked in my area.  We had 12+ on most bodies of water post blizzard and then lost about 6-8 inches with the thaw.

Edges were sketchy Sunday morning and ice thickness was NOT uniform - LOL!

Nearly soiled myself after drilling a bunch of holes on 8 inches of ice and then popped through a 3 inch section...

Need to know where there is moving water and springs.

I fished a spot in Essex County on Sunday and plan to head out to another deep water/spring fed spot tomorrow.

Tomorrow I'm going to cautiously work my way out from a point until I get a sense of uniform thickness.  Tomorrow's spot stayed locked through the thaw too...and had 12+ post blizzard...but it is always one of the last to lock around here and it is always one of the first to open.

Northern Worcester county is 100% good to go. Southern Worcester county is sketchier, but still mostly good to go.

A buddy had the same experience. It gets your attention in a hurry.  :o

Was on Flint Pond yesterday. The area near the boat ramp was pretty cruddy but the main lake had about 8 inches of black ice in most areas.

Pond near my house doesn’t look bad (from driving by). Edges still intact, which were the biggest issue before the rain. Still keeping the faith for the weekend . I’m in Northbridge

That’s what I figured. Just didn’t get warm enough long enough. Rain is frozen now in Wachusett area. My plans remain unchanged for this weekend , as of now.
