WOW! Those are some amazing slab crappies and bull gills ya got there! I'd have to say those are some of the best pics I've seen here on IS this season thus far... not just the avg. size of the fish, but it looks like you guys had a hell of a fun time!!! WTG!!! :clap: :thumbsup: :clap:

well i would of had more pics today but but the wind and rain would not cooperate. went to sandy pond this morn with panfishing pirate and the wind was so strong that it tore the zipper on one side of his clam 2000 completely down the seam :o well we will try another spot tomorrow probably tusc...will report and will post pics if we get into them...zeke

Nice mess of fish. Two friends and I were up near you fishing Saturday. We had a 3 hour trip and did not get on the lake until late morning. We only caught about 20 perch, all were finger size. Was not sure what we were doing wrong. I talked with the two ladies at the ice shed in your pics. Both were very nice.

Awesome catch "Crappie" very jealous. Havent had ice for oh....ummmm its been awhile. Atleast 3-4 weeks. (started pulling hair out a few days ago) I'm glad somone is out enjoying what god intended us to do. :tipup:

Looking forward to getting on the ice with you and Slipbob again. Wow, what a good couple days on the ice. We could have done without the 50mph winds on Sat but it sure was fun watching the "Tip-up 500". Never seen that many traps sliding across the lake :woot: :blink: I wonder who ended up winning.
Gent's, you would be hard pressed to find a couple guy's that are really into the ice fishing as Slipbob and Crappiedaddie. We worked fairly hard for the fish we caught but still managed to have a blast with all the "Interservice" rivalry comments between Zeke and I....LOL. Saturdays "Slipbobs Fish Trap Diner" was something to see. Only guy I know that could make sausage and peppers along with chili in a fish trap pro during hurricane force winds :bow: :bow:
Great day was had and I to can't wait until the next trip. Thanks for everything Slipbob and Say thanks to "She who must be obeyed" you are great host's.

yeah, we are still alive and the fish are biting wicked
pounding the craps and gills, big ones
caught a 13 1/8" crap today and then pulled in a 13 3/4" crap after that then a
13" , things were huge td ended up with 31 craps and 27 gills and missed and
lost more than that, shorelines still suck using a board to get on but been
getting fish everytime i go out, no pike though been skunked 4 times in a row and
margaret got skunked td as well, might fish friday morning, not sure have to work
thursday and fishing all weekend as well, caught most of mine on soup, see you when you come up

Thanks for the great day on the ice! I hope there are many more to come. We had a great time even though the bite wasn't that great for us.(Zeke showed me his Vex, and will be purchasing one tomorrow! He made me a believer!) This was a big day for for the family, because it was the first time ever we were able to take the kids out on the ice. So both of them caught their very first hardwater fish today! It was a different experience for them but I think they got it down pat now. It was a new experience for the "big kids" too, because we were sorta out of our element not being familiar with the lake. We are from PA (before you start booing and hissing at us, I am active duty Marine Corps so we go where our favorite Uncle Sam sends us ;D) and the fishing differs allot more here than what we are accustomed to. But we have already grown very fond of NY fishing! Again thanks for the great day and and heres to new friends! :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

We went fishing on the lake with spanky and jake. Logan 1st icefishing trip she caught this northern and this nice perch. She is hooked she loves icefishing know.

Zeke, I got out a bit this weekend but with getting all this stuff ready for court and then I had to attend a counseling session with a therapist with the Marine yesterday killed my trip fishing. I have another meeting on Friday then I think I'll head up. Still don't know my schedule.

Had another great day on Black. Thanks for the good time! For everyone else who doesnt have a Vex, let me tell you what your missing out on! Being new to the area my style of fishing just wasn't working (I normally fish 10' or less of water). This Vex taught me alot in a matter of an hour! If you have the means to buy one.....do it. I cant say enuff about it. When Crappiedaddy was trying to sell me on getting one, I thought he must have stock in the company......(just kidding Zeke ;) ;)) But after I saw him in action with his, I was sold on it. You definately spend more time catching than fishing. I still have some learning to do on it, but I plan on slaing them next week for sure. Thanks again Zeke!

Nice crappies you got there, we went out to black lake 2 yrs ago for 3 days, awesome time but we stayed at rogers and only fished over by rasberry and tin islands, no crappies over there, just 75 pike and probably (400) 5 in perch!

Well I just got back from fishing M.A.B. with crappiedaddie and had a great time.I caught 4 keepers that were from 10-12 inches,and caught a few that I threw back.I have to say that crappiedaddie is one hell of a fisherman,the crappies would just come up and sniff anything that you threw at them and it was tough to get them to hit anything.Crappiedaddie could get those Cally's to hit,by the time we left he must have had 20 or so on the ice.Also what a beautiful day to be on the ice,no wind,cold enough to make ice and sunny.There were a ton of guys out there to,everyone was having a blast,everyone started cooking up the food at shooting the bull and generally having a good time.I had to come back to watch my daughter at about 1 but I would have loved to stay and try to get some more fish.The ice was about 12-14 inches and there was alot of trucks out on the ice.See you guys later and I hope to see some of you guys out on the ice next time.

well where do i start...well yesterday started out meeting at a truck stop in maple view ny...form there we traveled north to BEUTIFUL BLACK LAKE...when we arrived tomatosoup was already busy setting up basecamp.he had exactly 30 of his friends show up for a pike derby..man 150 traps set up on mile arm bay was a sight to see..they were runnig n gunning all day.. with 7 minutes to go tomatosoup pulled in a 5lb 4oz pike that took top honors, wow nothing like waiting for the last minute.. well here is a picture of basecamp

well tomatosoup ran 50/50 raffles and a grab bag full of nice ice fishing gear including 2 spinning reels sunglasses at least 10 dozen jigs spinners and all kind of stuff..well the same person won both of the 50/50's $72.50 apiece and here he is with tomatosoup and the 2 people that ran around the lake on the 4-wheelers selling tickets..

Boy's you can look but you cant touch!, absolutly not for sale !!!!!!!! Jo-Jo's and friends private stock, and why would I sell now????? a little late in the season dont you think??, why buy jig's when I can make them myself and save a lil dough and get what I want. Making jigs with friends and getting to know people whats better than that. I get quite lonely here we dont get much company, and it was a great change of pace for me, and having another woman in the house to talk to, it was realy nice. So again thanks guys for comming over. Next time we can plan a bbq or something. ;D

Me and my hubby were way over due for fresh jig's. All we had when we moved here was a dozen smalls almost too small for up here, and the kids needed some too. The kids are old enough now that they want their own boxes lol, too funny, and they painted their own too of course, they have to have what we have. just a night of fun, and talking about getting out this weekend. I cant wait to try my new rod out. Instead of flowers I get fishing gear,hunting gear, guns, and power tools. And I love it!

wow those jigs are awesome..... I always wanted to try and paint my own jigs. Where do you buy the actuall jigs or do you make them from molds. I dont know if it is allowed on this site to tell where things are bought and sold so if you are willing to part with this info please shoot me a PM. I'm tired of never being able to find the right color of jigs that i want or the size and shape.
