Tom @  www.back2sports.net emailed to say frame was completed today and will be going into paint then heat lamps and ready for payment and shipment come Monday!

BuckyBadger - I kept my word in more ways than one - I requested a branding of "BB" in your favorit color - RED - on one of the legs and then decided the other leg will have the anonymous donor's initials on it

Tom plans on sending me pics so I can post the finished project !

PS...It would be nice if somehow we could all "E-sign" an "E-card" for him..... :woot:

Hey Steve - honestly  the fact that fabrication is finally completed and it has paint on it and there's a chance that it will
ship on Monday - that in itself is miraculous.   Originally told it may be done in a few days...two weeks later and there
ya go!   Good idea nonetheless

Good job putting this all together.
I have a sneaky feeling, that when u present his chair to him, all
of the struggles you encountered along the way, will become an afterthought.

Yep. The intent all along is to give back to one who gave much

In this case, it's in an area of what Stewart also fought for - freedom, independence

Greatly appreciate the continued support of all

Spoke with Tom @ Back2Sports.net today and he's kicking into this as well.  He's upgraded Stewart's skis to the longer set, which will make it easer for Stewart.

Additionally, I've requested that he add lettering to the skis
"Team Ice Shanty" placed on one or both skis
and of course in honor of BuckyBadger's request- there will be the letters  "BB"  (in RED) placed on a tip

Tom advised, once he completes these items he will attach the skis and forward a pic!

Alright then, it' time to provoke others in colorado springs to good works for our wounded warriors as there are literally
multiple military bases here and nearby

I contacted local news channel that frequently does human interest stories. Informed them about this project & they
want to be onsite for the presentation of the chair to stewart

What's my motivation - as mentioned above -
#1 Provoke others to good works for our soldiers
#2  I have a 16 year old son in his sophomore year in college that needs a good example.  Through our conversations,
he's learned much from this already    I plan to be one of his best examples the rest of my days on terra firma

Great news Steven,  don't worry about the BB on the ski  ;) everyone's dontation is great no matter the amount dontated and the IceShanty logo will be great, if anything I think you deserve to have your initials on there somewhere.   Heck when this is done, hopefully we get a chance to think about moding his ski chair   ;D

CLEARED OUT ALL OF THE PLEDGES MADE AND NOT FULFILLED TO DATE AND THAT BRINGS US TO THIS POINT:

   $1,265 Required    Product $1,200 + Shipping $65
$1,265 Received   (Note: $295 in pledges were never fulfilled)

In addition, Tom Hernon @ Back2Sports -who himself is in a wheelchair for life - has really been moved by all that you
guys have done for Stewart - he has decided to throw in the higher end skis / the Telmark Skis and free shipping.  Both
items added up to $210 we would have otherwise paid!   You're Awesome Tom!!  As you know, the Telmark's will help
him traverse terrain more easily-nice addition my friend!

Tom thinks it's possible we will have final assembled Pics tomorrow (including Team Ice Shanty graphic on skis plus
some certain initials I'm fond of)

Rest well Gents- you did good; real, real good!

Growing up as a kid, television was not adored in the household - the outdoors defintely were
So the little TV viewing time we had was given great focus (as much as 4 boys could between fighting & bickering)

That said, I remember the first time I heard Eeyore say,  "OH BOTHER   No Balloons, No Birthday Cake...."
Man, did I laugh hard at that depressed little jacka(s)s!

Well, who's laughing now?  HEE HAW

OH BOTHER  NO SPORTS WHEELCHAIR  (before Thursday)
Tom's out of town today plus he's waiting for decals to place on it before shipping hopefully on Thursday

The Feisty Brit's tired of dodging Horse & Buggy in the Amish town where he's helping out a 21 yr old paraplegic to get up in a copter with the Aeroleg invention.  He'll be heading home on Sunday - two day drive

He'll be happy to know his Milwaukee Electric Cordless drill just landed in Colorado Springs!!  Going to pick it up after work today

Hey Guys - sorry, I've been buried with work schedule.  Here's last message from Tom @ Back2Sports.net received last Tuesday:

"    Dear Steven
I have a big problem, the material I ordered for the bindings was back ordered and replaced by a type we can not weld.
The right material will not be here till Saturday and I have no other options at this time.  I drove all over Michigan the
past two days looking for it with no luck and to redesign and test something new is imposable (it took two years to
  develop)

I wish there was something else I can do but I can't. I understand if you want to cancel your order, I hope you don't
and will eat the cost of your stickers if you do... I am so sorry and will find a way to make it up to you.

I will work on getting you some better pics (my camera is very old and does not take great pics) I can tell you that this
is the best chair we have ever built and if you no longer want it I plan on keeping it for myself. You have no idea how
bad I feel, I hate letting anyone down. I can assure you that if you still want it it will ship Monday

  Thank you
  Tom Hernon
