ya, thanks for the help and puttin me on the spot, thats really what made the difference... helping each other catch fish should be the norm, i caught 3 more eyes but no keepers, and coles was a bust, ended up going to the marina up by barnhart and pounded the perch....another guy iced a huge pike while i was there

weird my family use to own that island haha, man I miss the river

fished my little hot spot for perch yesterday with my buddy from iceshanty, 5 foot of water, hundreds of dink perch, and had about a 12 lb pike come right to our jigs over and over but wouldnt bite...it was awesome to watch that huge fish just beneath us tho.....

absolutely love it too!

Not gonna give away the spot, but I think I have seen you fish there with your dad before. Your dad had the homemade automatic fisherman/jaw jacker right?

Has anyone been on Sixberry or Lake of the Woods?   There is nothing on the reports and conditions page.   I was planning to try it next week.  Thanks

Fished LOTI last Sunday. Some snow on top of the ice then was a bit of a problem walking. Dug down to the ice about 6-8 inches. Fish bite was in spurts but did mange 32 decent perch and one  small pike. Beautiful sunny day but cold.

Pretty Good Week in the North Country so far @)
Well let me tell you something now, Johnny. Last Thursday, I turned 95 years old. And I never exercised a day in my life. Every morning, I wake up, and I smoke a cigarette. And then I eat five strips of bacon. And for lunch, I eat a bacon sandwich. And for a midday... Bacon! A whole damn plate of it.....

No there ain't no moral. I just like the story
