Check out the NYS Ice Pro-Am Tournament Series - this will give you something to look at to help pass the summer away. @)

anyone gonna fish anywhere new this year? Whats everyones goal for the season? I was told its gonna be another winter without a lot of snow... but mucher colder.. I have no idea how accurate that is? Id love it though.

there are some good walleyes to be had down there, but as soon as the ice gets about 5'' or 6'' it gets fished pretty hard. Get there early ice and you will find some fish!!

We have many anglers coming in from out of state - there are many nice places to stay during the events at all three locations, several of which are going to offer discounted rates for our anglers. We'll have them listed on the site once we get these in writing from them. Being a meteorologist, for those looking for a winter forecast, my prediction (based on a weak El Nino pattern) is that we will have colder than average temps with normal to above normal snowfall.  @)  I am also predicting this because it will bode well for the tournament series!! ;D

good luck with that... this year is playing off just like last year only much later in the season..... the ground is going to be so oversaturated with run off that not many lakes are going to get that solid long lasting ice we need. The warm weather keeps the water flowing just under the ground surface and spills into lake/ponds which keeps surface temps above par. i hope to be on the ice asap but thinking realistically......I'm getting the Jon boat ready....the fish we want are there......... just might need to float your tip ups ;)

I don't think so. If I can fish on Christmas I will be happy. That's my prediction.

I can/will second that.  It's nice to "dream" tho  @)   That week a XMAS is usually my target, but I will take what ever Mother Nature sends along.  Used to work on a dairy farm and can remember one year the ground was "WET" and it froze so solid, we could not get the plows to cut in the week before XMAS.  There's always a chance for early ice and Mother Nature can make things change in the "blink of an eye".
