Had a great day today on Lake of the Isles. 8+ in of ice, nothing left on top but a dusting of snow, walking was no problem. Got a half bucket of 8 to 12 in perch, the toothy critter bit off a couple rigs but I did manage to rangle one through on some 2lb test, all in all awsome day!

Whose been fishing in this cold? Headed out tommorrow. Can't decide between black or lake of the isles. I guess I will decide in the am. temps rising into the 40s. ice should be a mess... Anyone hitting the crappies. Managed about 13 or so the other day on black lake but haven't been able to limit out like I did numerous times last year. Bad timing or a result of the millions of people on black so far this year.

Also, any word on any 20lbers being taken out of cranberry yet?

yeah west side of the bridge prolly wasnt the best spot to go but without a 4 wheeler or sled im not gonna walk 4 miles to where the fish are closer access would have been great i fish there during the summer so i have an idea where to go via boat but on foot not so much

Man, the BL boat launch is at least a 1/2 mile from the bridges.  There is a link to a BL Google Map showing the few public access points that exist.
I'll post it again.  Black Lake
