What is the worst and best investment you made for ice fishing?

My worst investments so far have to be either of the two cheap shanty’s I bought.

Some of my best, portable a fish finder but I’m going to up grade to a flasher.  Real jigging rods with slip floats so I can real my fish in and not have to worry about a big mess or re-marking my depth.  Plus the floats will lay flat if a crappie or other fish takes it up instead of down.  Portable G.P.S. unit has saved me a bunch of time.  And up grading to polar tip ups.

My worst was cheap tipups as soon as they would freeze they fell apart they were made of junk wood.

My best investments would be south bend jigging rods and nor'easter tipups.

Best: Jet Sled Jr, FL-18
Worst: A pair of steel rod holders that unfolded into an X. They weighed a ton, and I pirated the plastic holder parts for rod holders on my sled box.

Dude... the Helicopter Lure! I can still here Roland Martin selling his sole to the devil while pimping that thing! 
Like I always said though... the first time a bass rises up and tries to eat my trolling motor, I would probably wish that I had the Helo-lure along.

My best would be the Vex flasher... I will not fish without it.

My worst are probably too numerous to list... but the Ugly-Ice jigging rod combo's are pretty rough.

Best: Merino Wool knee high wading socks and wick-away undergarments....
Worst: Anything made of plastic (scoops, tipups, minnow buckets). Genz tazer lights. Once they get wet inside, go buy a new one...

My best would have to be my fin-bore 6inch hand auger.  Sure outclasses the old mora I started with.  The polar tip-ups I have are pretty nice to.  Of course I've never used any beaver dams or Jacktraps so maybe I just don't know what I'm missing.

Cant think of a worst, everything I have works at least and I've been glad to have it.
