What are all you meatbats up to?
Rushing to get everything done at the shop so I can get home and patch the hole a big limb poked in my less than 5 year old roof yesterday... Atleast the power company claims service has been restored in my neighborhood... Good times
I’m on hour 27, could be worse. What’s a extra couple buckets of water from the river out back for the toilets and cooking a Tuna steak in foil on my top hat heater in the living room
Come on Frank there's no way you don't have a generator
just pm u frank before i saw this
I lose it so much was one of the first things i had to do... You know happy wife happy life!
Wow, I almost feel bad for all you guys but really secretly jealous of you actually having winter. Living on the seacoast blows. No winter. We got maybe 2" here and mud from all the rain. I can't wait till I can someday get back up to real north and have to plow and lose my power. I've missed it to be honest
I’m just camping out, like you say it’s kinda nice.
Lol!! Smart man i see your method to your madness that generator plug is never going in..... Its ok I can keep a secret.
Gonna invite Snitch over
Getting ready to climb the roof now, the puncture is about the size of my fist. Gonna do a 32"x32" patch, I already had marine plywood and membrane on hand, just had to grab a bundle of shingles... The worst part is being on the roof, I friggin hate heights even if it's only 15 feet.I've got a generator that I don't use either Frank, It was easier to just shove the chest freezer out the back door into the cold than it is to dig out the generator, I've got an old dug well on property for when the artesian doesn't have power. Cooked a bone in ribeye on the wood stove last night, no worries.
Love it! Reminds me of those smelt I posted last year in the pan on the stove. Yeah, if it was gonna be a week or brutal cold I’d rig it into the dryer or to the furnace or something but like you said it seemed like more work. I am def doing a hookup at the meter this spring though. Be safe on that roof hopefully the pitch isn’t too steep.
That's what I do, kill the main and plug it into the dryer..runsvheat, and fridge as well as a few lights and my fish tanks..I've got a GD POS electric range.. last time we list power I did a roast on my camp oven..I've got one you can borrow as well if the need should arise
Roof patch went fine, most of the roof is a nasty pitch but the damage was to a dormer that is really shallow. Looking from the backside I don't think I'll have to replace sheetrock, hoping to get away with priming over the stain with kilz and a quick repaint. That's for another time, at least she's water tight now.I remember the pic of smelt in a pan on the wood burner... I cook on my wood stove fairly often, especially soups and stews. I even busted out the pie iron last night for a hot pb&j dessert..This is pretty much all I need to get through a winter...
