Fly the Team Iceshanty Flag! Iceshanty Proshop
If I'm not mistaken, most gear was out of stock before the season ended, so there was no need for retailers to offer any closeout deals since they had nothing in stock that needed to be liquidated. I did get 10% a new clam ice shack from a local bait shop, but you're right I didn't see much for end of season sales either.
An inordinate number of guys and gals who would normally be working had lots of free time off to fish this past winter because of the virus lockdowns. Stuff sold out in lots of stores plus while the inventories were sold down the companies producing the goods might also have been closed or having a hard time getting the parts and materials or the laborers to make things. I would expect the fallout from this pandemic to be with us for a while longer and even finding a new car or truck right now is not real easy with the microchip shortages.
We just bought a new SUV and had to go way above our price point with a loaded vehicle because the shelves were bare over the chip shortage. A buddy is trying to build a new home on his hunting property and can't get the materials or has to pay through his nose for the lumber. The new home will end up costing about $30K more than it would have just last summer.
30k is a soft hit over night one of the builders here raised his prices 100k. 180-280 to 280-380 overnight
I have to wonder, no crystal ball here, if you spend $30 or $100K more for a home today than it would have cost just last year, will it always be valued at the inflated price when or if things ever do get back to the normal we had.I know on the SUV car lot they had a couple models we wanted that were just base models with few options and just 2 that were fully loaded and none in between. We did not want the bare bones base but we sure didn't want all the bells and whistles we got for an additional $6 grand. Subaru actually had vehicles on their lot they could not yet sell because they were delivered without the chips to run some of the electronics. They had no idea when the chips would arrive. All the dealers seemed to have lots of the plug in Hybrids if that fits your needs.
This Milwaukee Battery/Hammer Drillfree gift deal is still going on at Home Depot ..with Fathers day around the corner going to be tough to beat ...save the receipt for return if something better pops up ..but if the past holds true most Fathers day drill deals are not high enough torque for ice auguringhttps://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Starter-Kit-with-One-5-0-Ah-and-One-2-0-Ah-Battery-and-Charger-48-59-1852/315426067?MERCH=REC-_-pip_alternatives-_-315426486-_-315426067-_-N&
Looks like free 1/2 drill will turn an auger but I could be wrong.
