The owner of the company threatened IceShanty with litigation and they had to pull it.

I'm thinking that Iceshanty is a pretty small forum compared to other online biggies like FB, Twitter and You tube.

Yeah that's true. Or even if a guy bought a domain name like ridgelinefishousebroke .com and put pictures and facts about what happened that might come up in a search too. I don't have time for something like that though.

I was wondering what happened also. At least no one was hurt as a result of what happened.  sra61, let us know how it turns out if you decide to pursue anything. Good Luck.

All I read were opinions about how dangerous that trailer was built..

It's a shame it didn't stick, also, too bad, maybe a family has to be killed before a warning like that can be allowed to stay up?

Seems money talks, safety walks...

Pretty sad way to conduct yourself as a business owner. Bullying ain't cool. I'm preparing letters to DOTs with pics and descriptions of just what happened, and have to leave it at that. I have the trailer at a local welder here. I told him to add those side braces and I think he's going to add a gusset underneath as well. I told him I wanted it bulletproof. The guy did offer to fix it at his shop, but that meant taking it 1100 miles one way! That's just ridiculous! I can't do that. It's a hollow offer and he knew it. I'll cover it myself and know it's right. But future accidents are what worry me most. I lucked out, I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else.

The bullying by the owner did his company more damage than you could have by being honest on IS. I won't consider that brand and I doubt anyone I know will either. A lot of people on IS have fought for our constitutional rights.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

ill never own one of any brand being poor and thin ice here.but after seeing that tongue failure I would never consider a ridgeline.i had trailer tongue failure when turning left on a street with a empty snowmobile trailer.very scarey the momentum it gain by slinging from the turn and jumped a ditch almost 10 ft. in the air  then tumbling towards a house.thankfully the deep snow stopped it before it hit the house.

Too bad, Ridgeline had such an opportunity to just step up and fix the problem.  It would have cost very little and the positive exposure on this forum would have paid back 10 to 1.  BUT....... They fumbled worse than Lagarrette Blount.  What a missed opportunity.  I'm sure the story won't work 't be like the Patriots.
