Post by: spiltmilt on Nov 01, 2017, 11:01 PM
A reliable ice fishing lake in the northern Okanogan. Offers a diversity of fish including Rainbow, Brook, Tiger, and Lake Trout as well as Smallmouth Bass and Kokanee.

Fish this lake a week ago and it was slow slow. One Rainbow.

Went back to today. They have no plowed access and you can't park on the road. No bueno.

Fished Bonaparte last Friday. Found plenty of action in 5-10' including a couple big Rainbows pushing 20", several Brookies, and a small Tiger Trout.

Ice was 14" with 10" of slush on top.

Fished bonaparte yesterday and targeted kokanee. Ice was great, 6-7'' with no snow or slush. Fishing was tough but I got 4 small kokanee that must have been recent plants between 10-11''.

Fished Bonaparte last week. 7" of slick ice with no snow. I'm sure that has changed by now.

Tried early for Mackinaw in deepwater but couldn't keep the clouds of kokanee off my gear. Kokanee were hanging in 20-30' of water over 50'.

Moved shallow and started catching Tigers in the 15-16" range as well as a few Brookies. Bite died off around 1 PM.

Ice is 24" thick and the Kokanee fishing is excellent.
