This ones for you Coffin Dodger!
« on: Mar 07, 2020, 06:17 PM »
Had to go in Skinny water and try 5 different baits to pull it off but this ones for you my friend!

Dillie worm in 2 FOW on a pressure crack over a sand beach between rocky bottom. 1 pm

This one is not for you CD. Caught it in shallow water, 20 to 50 foot water on shiners, dillies, salmon eggs, worms and PB. Bamb308 and I did have one nice windflag.

Great stuff, Frank. Very nice hen!
For those who don't know, Frank told me the other day, he was going to stick a nice bow for me, today! Said he would and did! Takes a good man to do that off his beaten path.
PG told me you all had a good time. Sounds like a great gathering.
Denny, you didn't lose your sense of humor.  ;D
I think next year with a new knee, you'll be back on your game. Hoping so, my brother.
Sorry I missed the party. This flu got the best of me.
Haven't heard from you yet Joe, but know that you're the man!  :flex:

Great day had by all. Nice to see you fellas/ladies. Tough day for the bite today, nice bow Frank. Bag o tricks paid off for CD. Good thing you didn't catch any of those skunks. .
Frank, I'm still chuckling about the story..lol "wait, there's skunks in here?"
I think they stocked the place for Denny's trip over today. ;D
Hope you feel better CD. Everyone was thinking about ya.

Great day for sure... Well maybe except for the sunburn I didn't realize I had until I jumped in the truck and cranked the heat on the way home lol. Definitely learned some tactics watching Frank work, I'm gonna have to try chasing some of those bows myself. It was really a pleasure to fish with a great group of guys and gals, not to often I walk on the ice in the dark and walk back off in the dark. It might have been a little slow but that made for some good conversation. Steph, I hope you got your fillets done while watching youtube by the fire lol.
You may not have been able to make it Richard but everyone was thinking of you... I know your humble and don't believe this but you are a Legend in the eyes of the folks (as Joe put it) that matter... Get well soon CD

Great day for sure! We'll have you there with us next year, CD! Maybe M&M can show you how to pull up one of those striped cats. Usually I'm the big shot getting them, but I got a monster perch instead. It was a battle, but I landed it.  ;D

You know the bite is slow when someone gets a flag, and EVERYONE strolls over to check it out lol.

Awesome crew yesterday. Thanks for putting up with me.

Yes, Stealth, I made something resembling fillets,  and am getting ready to eat them in a few minutes. But who needs youtube when your best oldtimer buddy happens by and tells you how to do it lol. He wouldn't help....he made me learn on my own. The local bobcat will be happy with the rest. Nothing wasted. :)

Thank you for the invite, Roccus. You Rocc.

Bamb308 and I had a great time a few more pics from the "Rocc Side". Great to see everyone again. Didn't get any pics of Wayne (couple of nice whites), Jason (a boardable pickeral), Bill (a smallie) and Joe (quite a few whites).

Another pic of AA's bow.

Steph with a monster yellow.

Ray with Joe's favorite fish.

Richard my brother you were there.

Hope you enjoyed the day, I took these pictures for you when I cleaned my fish today..I used an electric knife, but the principle is the same, make a cut behind the gill up onto the head, down to the back bone, for practice purpose,  make a horizontal cut as a guide down the back, then cut from the head along the back down to the tail, leaving a skin tag, flip the filet and cut out the rib bones, now, run the knife under the skin to separate the skin from the filet,  flip and repeat, it takes about   minute and a half per fish, but I've done thousands of them.

Yeah, that's exactly how grumpy old man had me doing it. I missed some of the meat, though. I still got a big meal out of it, and there were no bones, so it was a nice dinner. Thank you for sharing! Those were yummy.

I can see my shadow in Steph’s pic. Trying to undo 6 surgeon knots, 3 uni to uni’s, and a Albright with a locker on top of a Palomar :roflmao:

We got it though!

I admire her shear determination to pull whatever was on the end of that line. Hand over fist, she wasn't stopping for nothing!  Well done both Steph and Frank.
