6lb should be fine, they aren't typically line shy, I catch them on traps with 12lb leader.

I might target them once a season, but catch them all the time on my spoon rods. 6lb fluoro leader.

I like 4, just set the drag on your rod!

1#...hoping they break it so I don't have to deal with the catch and release.  :roflmao:

Really about how big a fish are you after?

With that small of a lure 6# will be fine.  If after big fish...I'd go with 20# or even 30# test.  Just so when I pull them in close, all that line will take a lot of beating at the ice hole.

I don't fish for them on purpose but they seem to find me. I have 3lb or 4lb mono on almost all my rods, and don't think I've lost but maybe one. Just work the drag.

6# Flourocarbon will work fine. My go to line for icefishing in general is 6# flourocarbon. I never lack catching fish including pan fish. During open water I target bass as it is my favorite fish to fish for, I use 10# flourocarbon and I land some decent bass.
