UPDATE; Kearney Ice
« on: Jan 01, 2008, 02:29 PM »
I just got back from a "Conditions Trip" to check out the ice.Other than being colder than hell the ice was in some good shape at Yanney and Cottonmill. There was only one guy out on yanney and he said he hadnt caught much yet. In the west end, the northern part of it was open, and from what I could tell the whole eastern side was frozen over. I checked the thinkness and it was anywhere from 6" to 8" where i could get through some old frozen holes.
I then went out to Cottonmill to check things out there and everything seemed the same as it was last week: around 5" 8" on the western end and around the islands, eastern end south of the docks was still open. I didnt go to far north of the boat ramp since I didnt see any tracks from other people.
