Ice Depth

I was out at Goose Lake south of O'neill Sunday Nov. 30th looking for a dumb pheasant or prarrie chicken, no luck, but there was about 2 inches of ice near the shore.  I ventured out a few feet from shore and could see the thickness.  The NG&P killed off the lake this fall and there were a large number of HUGH carp laying around the edge.  I saw some  skeletons of some LMB up to 3 pounds and some hammer handle Northerns . There were also a lot of smaller perch and bluegills.  It looks like there was a good kill, now if they could figure out a way to keep those darn carp out we will again have a decent lake in several years if we get some help from Mother Nature with some rain/ snow.
