Omaha ice

Has anyone looked at the lakes around omaha in the past few days?

Prairie View was about 95% ice free this morning, should be 100% ice free by end of the day with the wind we are experiencing - which is good. I hope its 100% ice free before the 3-6 inches of snow comes tomorrow. That'll get the ground nice and cold and then we can get those frigid temps to come in and make some clear, solid ice......bring it on!

I'm so ready for ice and these cold days coming up are getting me excited

Just stopped by zorinsky this morning would'nt want to fish it after the kill but does have aprox. 1 1/2 inches clear solid ice. Small farm pond by fremont last night had about the same. Weathet seems to be doing its job for now anyway.

Drilled a few holes at Prairie View today - only an inch or so of clear ice.  Great ice making temps are here. Plan on going out the day after Christmas. Should have fishable ice by then. Man, it's been a long time coming.

I noticed while driving by that Walnut Creek is iced over now, but I have not been down to check thickness.
