Don’t know diddly about your procedure, but I’m sure you’ll do fine.  Us Ice fishers are a tough bunch.  Very best of luck to you, and let us know how you make out!

Ice it up good, relax, watch some tv, throw your meds in the garbage after 1or 2 days and you will be fine. Fish hard in 2020! A couple of cocktails will also help!

Aside from the meds, follow the post surgical instructions seriously.
When you hear of people having to have a "revision" surgery because the initial procedure failed it's more than likely the person didn't follow the instructions, and because they "felt" better they figured "I can try xxxx " (some activity they shouldn't try) and cause the failure.

Don't be in such a rush to "get back to your normal routine" or you could add so much more time to your overall recovery!

Of course it depends on the size of the tear that are "meshing"...

The caution to follow the doctor's instruction is very important. If a secondary surgery is needed, then it is possible that the mesh is removed, which would make the repair less strong. Also, if you feel discomfort around your hernia before it is repaired, seek emergency medical help. A hernia can become strangulated, which needs to be fixed immediately, or a section of the bowel can die and need to be removed.
