This is great! I hope that Eloika and Fourth-of-July lakes can be added at some point, as well. Bead lake produced my first burbot, last year. A big fat 23-incher, just stuffed full of crawdads! I’m hoping to be on ice soon!

Feel free to add threads for each of those lakes if you would like.

This is awesome! Nice job spiltmilt. As an aside, my wife and I have been enjoying your youtube channel all summer. Hoping you are able to get some ice fishing videos up soon! ;D

Lived in WA ten years, and I finally decided I wasn’t going to let the cold keep me from fishing.... first time on the ice was Saturday. Glad there’s a WA page so rookies like me can learn from and network with like minded people. ;D

Welcome to the sport, WinterIsComing. If you scroll down the main page to the equipment section, you'll find all sorts of interesting things to get you going.
The one thing I take every time I'm out is a set of spikes that I wear around my neck. If you should ever go in the water, the spikes will help you self-extract.
Lots of great places to fish around here during the winter, but do it quick. The ice has a tendency to disappear pretty fast!
Have fun, and stay safe!

Thanks Flam, A friend took me out on the ice last Saturday for the first time and gave me the rundown. I am now hooked and proud to say I can check the Northern Pike off the list. Ugly and slimy but man do they clean up nice for the table.....

What lake were you guys pike fishing at? That's something I haven't tried yet.

We were at Hayden Lake. Well worth the $12/day in out of state fees to fish five holes as opposed to two here in WA.

Ahh yes, we do most of our fishing in Idaho and do the yearly out of state license every year. I haven't tried Hayden yet, but we've hit nearby Avondale a number of times.

Awesome! Finally a Washington board! Lots of lakes in this area have hard water from mid December to early March and I've been wondering why there was never a Washington section. Thanks Ice Shanty.

Hey folks,
If you are enjoying the fact that we have a Washington board now as much as I am, please take a moment to go watch a couple of SpiltMilt's youtube videos on his channel. He puts a lot of time and effort into producing some informative fishing videos filmed in some of the most beautiful areas of our state! Make sure to "like" the video if you enjoyed what you've watched and subscribe to his channel. It costs you nothing, but is a big benefit to the guy doing all the work keeping the channel going. Hopefully everyone is staying safe out there as our ice season winds down. I'm hoping we have at least a few more days fishing available! ;D
