I'd like to know who does the boat launches down south too. They do a great job at keeping the ramps clear. We all appreciate you.

Would the park not be plowed by the government? As for the guy that keeps the north end clear, agreed. I always assumed it was one of the neighbouring farmers.

Whoever it is. I’d like to buy him a bottle of his favourite beverage.
Get outside.  It does a body and mind good!

Are people driving on already? What is the ice thickness?

At least 10” yesterday. Might be good to drive on next weekend. Maybe not in a one-ton pickup though.

Should get some real solid ice this week 🥶

There was a truck driving around on the North end Tuesday.  I imagine there will be more on the ice come Thursday and Friday when it warms up a bit.  Can anyone confirm that we have a good 12 inches of ice?

Had 11" on the south yesterday. Someone said 13" on the north. Should probably be 12 across the lake by this weekend with this cold. Personally i like to see a bit more before i do any long distance drives.

There were 13 inches of good ice over 23 feet of water this afternoon. I drove on the North end. The access is pretty good with some larger drifts forming on the lake itself. My test hole yielded a few perch marks and some half hearted nibbles. Somebody appeared to have driven across the lake. Mind you, I did only see one set of tracks..........

Sporadic walleye bite this morning. Lots of shoppers on the flasher, but only a few committed. Plenty of entertainment however, with a fresh feed to boot. Good to be back out there.....

Morning bite wasn't bad, we caught 6.  I kept these two 18 inches for my first fresh fish of the winter.  Then a couple of us went looking for perch, between the two of us tried 15 spots on the North end all the way past the South pump house, nothing.  Went back to Walleye holes and only caught 3 small perch.  The perch must be at the South end ( let's hope).

The ice on the North end is a good 15 inches, there were 5 of us driving around today.  The road to the entrance is good, but a bit of a ice heave at the entrance driving on.  Go slow or you will catch air driving over it.

Was out at the south end this afternoon straight out from the south boat launch in about 21-22ft. Caught 4 perch this size and 6 smaller, all went back. A couple of trucks were on the ice .

How can you tell there were 8?  Are you sure that wasn’t the bottom?

Its usually pretty easy to tell when they are moving. Looks like about 8 marks on a flat bottom to me.

The red line in there body here is 3 off the bottom  . The red line in there body I believe is there swim bladder, same as in a normal fish finder in 2 d switch fire on a graph where they look like an arc with the red line in there body

I'm pretty jealous of that tech. Is that the Garmin? How do you like it?

Could be a few things but I doubt swim bladder is one of them. Unless your transducer is acting like an x-ray machine. I would lean more towards sensitivity, or where the fish is in relation to your cone angle .is the fish in the centre of your cone angle ? or it could be both. Lots of good videos to research on it.

In down mode u can see them coming in from either side of 14 feet away and yes u can see the red outline in there bodies , very well defined. I've never used forward mode ice fishing in the summertime on the boat u can see them clearly out to 65 feet , u supposedly can see 120ft but have never tried it . Best on the strap this summer was 26" walleye . Also went back for someone else to catch another day
