Keep on the move and look for active fish, it may be the waters you are fisinhg don't harbor big fish, some places are like that

I have had great luck chuming and hanging in there with it. Jigs are tough in the mid-winter so you might want to switch your jig w/ just a hook and a good slice of sucker just bumping along in a cloud of chum. If you see a laker showing up on the screen remember how they strike...lift the bait a bit a few reels when you see the laker making a move...that might make him hit, they are touchy. Other than that, I just like the quiet and the sun....who cares about flags sometimes; peace is nice.

My advice is big bait for big fish. Be prepared for slower action, but you eliminate catching some of the smaller fish. With bigger bait comes bigger hooks and line... line isn't as big of a problem under the ice as it is open water fishing. Keep looking, moving, targeting fish with a vex or other electronics if you can. It's just a matter of time... it could be a long wait so patients is important. There is a reason why those BIG FISH are called "a fish of a lifetime."
Kid...ya took the words right outta my mouth :D.....
Patience especially....Keep in mind that there is a reason why the fish get BIG in the first place.
