In the 70s, when our family first started going to Minnesota and Ontario, we'd end up making our own in-line spinner baits and "Little Joe" rigs right at the cabin. All it took was a box of beads, a variety of blades, a handful of hooks, wire, and a nail driven into the deck handrail.
