Portable shanty sides

(1/1)

kenelz:
I was tired of picking stuff up that fell off the shanty when pulling it around.
I made it out of expanded metal, and welded it to 1" angle in the corners. I got the steel from a local steel supplier (Arlo), they have a "drops room" which is left over pieces, they charge fifty cents a pound, so this cost about three bucks! It fits in the slots of the base of the shanty, and is held down by one bungee cord. All I have to do is un clip each side of the bungee, and lift it off. I made it last night, and had it out on the ice this morning. works great!
The portable shanty is a Shappell 2000, but could be made to fit any. On the back mesh, I cut a slot in a 3/4 pvc pipe, and fit it over the top of the mesh. This is so it wont scratch up the auger. I spray painted everything black.
