Warm weather and ice
« on: Jan 01, 2011, 09:34 PM »
I was wondering what you guys thought of what the warm weather has done to the ice. I know it melted off the snow but how much of the ice was melted off as well. How long do u think it will take for the cold to get everything good and solid again.
 Thanks for the input!
 Matt

We went out today and the edges were pretty soft but of the 2 ponds and one lake we were on the lake edges were the worst.  Once out on the ice there was well over 4 inches.  The ponds were a solid six.  The ice was growing.

Farm pond that I fish had a 5" of ice before this weekend.  It had a section of open water in the middle on Saturday (due to the rain and the run-off).  Surface is solid again and the ice is forming again.
