Good day, blue sky with light wind have not checked the temperature yet I did get the snow brush for vehicle out of storage after yesterday's period of snow. We do not have many Trick or Treaters her during "normal" years so not expecting to see any children today. There are a few families with young children in the complex but in my time living here never had anyone knock on my door. I do have a couple with a young daughter living in my section of the building delivered a bag of goodies for her last night.
OldSailor thank you for clarifying things with regards to Michelle. I suggest see thank with her insurance agent to make sure she is protected should anything happen before she takes ownership of the house. I assume the current owner has insurance might be a requirement to sell a home /property in your state.
Ice Wanderer may all go well finishing the dormer siding today. Be careful roof might be slick after yesterday's snow.
Hunts2long I wish Yoopergirl/Mindy had become a frequent poster to this thread so she could have given you some advice about the knee. Like Wallyworld said might be worth a trip to urgent care  if you have one in your area.  I believe Quinine water is supposed to provide some relief from Gout. Hope you feel better and have more mobility in coming days.
Wallyworld did Mr.WW leave you in good shape by moving your tractor and installing it's snowblower unit should you need to use the tractor to clear snow while he is at hunting camp. I'm sure folks will miss your cookies with no fire department Halloween party this year. Sad to hear Sean Connery has died,I need to check this but think he was the first actor to portray the role of James Bond.
Eddie thought you might have a short work day with the snow. I was talking with my sister last night she was surprised that I received some snow yesterday and that parts of upstate NY. might see several inches. Told her well not a common occurrence my part of NY. does get occasional snow in October. Have fun with the grandchildren today.

Have a good Halloween may everyone see no problems from any pranksters . remember to wear your protective face covering while handing out the treats. Best to all fishing and hunting this weekend.

Cold, windy and snowy here this AM.

Dad is back at the home after having his shoulder put back where it should be.
Resting with his arm in a sling now.

Good evening everyone!

Just a quick report.

The bucks were moving tonight, I saw 7 bucks and 5 does. 2 of the bucks were 10 pts, 3 were 8pt.

I almost took a medium 8pt but decided to roll the dice and wait for a bigger one. That one could come back to bite me.

I am planning on heading to the stand in the morning,  but it's going to be ugly. 25mph sustained winds with 40mph gusts. Right now its snowing and should dip to 18 by first light.

Hope everyone had a good evening. Stay safe and healthy.

Well Marv, Your call,  ;D

Well I am back, but not without it turning into an adventure.  The Key bandit stole my truck keys, that's my story and I am sticking to it.  Had to call on my emergency road side assistance to unlock so I could get the spare set and drive on home.  Once they located a vender that took the task, arrived within a half hour. Took nearly that long on the phone as that was the first time I had ever used it.  Once they figured out I work at Camping World, they got right with it.

Dave bet your Dad is glad to be home too ?

No trick or treaters here, bit too cool and you know the rest.

Going to be boring for a while, phone disconnected, TV on vacation until the 20th.  Think I will go ahead and set the the clocks back and be done with it.

time to unpack, and turn around twice, and grab the pillow.

               Good morning Bud, ER's,
It's 27* and clear, the moon is brightly shinning. ::)
Bud.........Keys sometimes like to hide, you'll find them someday.
Marv........I don't know what to say, I've never seen that many bucks where I hunt, hopefully the big one will come close. :flex:
Dave.......I think your dad will be happier at home, how far is he from you? ???
Steve......That was nice of you to deliver a bag of goodies to your neighbor.
H2l.........I'm sorry to read that you are in that much discomfort that you can't get out in the woods. :%$#!:
Eddie......I hope the grandkids enjoyed last night, did you take any pictures? ???
OS..........Good news that your daughter can store her belongings at her new home.
Tom........Sorry to read that you're selling the toon. :(
Wally.......The siding job couldn't have gone any better, we were done in 2.5 hrs., maybe the cold temps maybe pushed us to go faster.
One thing that I did noticed, cold will be effecting my thumb, I had to wear a glove on that hand. :%$#!:
I noticed yesterday as some of the snow melted in the sunny areas that a lot of beach leaves were on the ground, so today I will try to blow them aweay.
I hope everyone has a good Sunday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

Mid 30's to start the day. It is  guessed to  get into the 60's later in the week. Dang biological clock. With the time change I woke up at 4 am instead of 5 am this morning.

OS Did you see that Michigan got beat by Michigan State yesterday! It made me happy as those that support Michigan can be pretty arrogant at times even those that never went there.
When we sold my mothers house it took fore ever for the buyers to get there loan finalized. MY brother wanted to up the price but seeing I was the adminstrator of  the estate I told him NO.  I let them move some things in before they got the loan finalized. I guess none of his nozy in laws must not have  seen it happening or they would have told him.

Marv I hope that  passing that buck does not come back to haunt you. With  the number of bucks we have on camera around my blind I think I will take the first one that steps out. Last year they disappered before firearms season. The heavy 10 point would look good on the wall as a skull mount but the meat would mostly get ground as it would be awfly tough and gamey. I still have not figured out the new rules on using a center fire rules. I do know that in some palces you can use it in muzzy season to shoot does.

I have a lot of oak that needs split so my son has it as he is low on wood. That will have to wait until after firerams season as it is right by my tower. Hopefully we do not get too much snow that we can not get to it.

Steve The fix of the computer will not  cost me as we have Geek Squad coverage. I have lots of problems that need fixed. Now spell check has quit working. That is my excuse for my poor typing skills any way! I learned to type on a manual if that is an excuse.

bud I carry a spare key for my van in my bill fold. It does not have a chip in it. They will not make a key for one that has a chip in it with out costing you to have the chip in it for emegencys. My old van actually has 3 doors that have key access. Good thing as the sutomatic door lok does not work any more.

Eddie IF you want to see what our governmess if all about she is going to be on CNN some time today.

Didn't get to see Emerson yesterday dressed up, but maybe today. Had a granddaughter as a bat, a granddaughter as a witch, and grandson was a scarecrow, lol....they were the only trick or treaters we had all day.
Meeting up with my 4 brothers this afternoon for a little get together.... haven't been together all at once in a very long time.
Almost time to go through all  the ice fishing gear again....looking at the snow on the lawn is getting me anxious!   :icefish:

Eddie......enjoy the visit with your brothers today   MrWW is seeing a few, nothing close enough yet tho  :-\

H2L.....fingers crossed today's a better day for the knee  :)

27* and a slight breezw.
IFF, glad you had a good trip home. If you lived closer I would loan you our "house ghost" she would find those keys in no time. She has located things for us more than once.

Drifter, good to hear you Dad is on the mend.

WS, good luck today in the wind. My Dad loved to hunt the hard woods when it was very windy. He was a very good still hunter claimed the deer had to rely on their eyes only as their noses and ears were of no good in the wind.

WW, hope that buck shows up for Mr.WW.

IW, if having to wear a glove is the only issue from your accident, you did well. Looks like a warm up in the forecast around here, not sure about Maine, Good Luck.

Always liked Sean Connery movies. The Hunt For Red October was the best.

As much as I hate it, I just may have to go to the Dr's about my knee. I know I won't beable to bowl tonight and getting into the woods is a NO NO per the wife and kids.

Everyone liked the "Goullash" and we watched "Beetlejuice".

Have a good day....h2l

Good day,Hope everyone remembered to change their clocks and watches. Overcast sky and windy outside like Eddie supposed to see some rain this afternoon.I see a new Seat Belt rules starts today here in Ny. all passengers in the back seat must wear a belt used to be only those under age of 16 .Also see our Governor is sued new travel requirements as Covid-19 cases continue to rise across the nation. Quite here last night no trick or treaters.
Drifter may your father's shoulder heal without any problems good to hear he is home.
IFF good to read you are home safely hope you find the missing truck keys. Like Mr. Turkey I carry are spare set on me .
Whopper Stopper glad you are seeing lots of deer activity. may your choice pays off and you get a shoot at one of the bigger bucks. Strap in today and dress warm your stand will be swaying with the wind.
Old Goat looks like Winter is sending a reminder that it will soon be here, hopefully the colder temperatures last in your area and you get an early start to ice fishing.
Ice Wanderer good to read the dormer siding was a fast and easy job. I agree with Hunts2long about your thumb. Have a good time and hunt in Maine.
Tomturkey hopefully your body will adjust quickly to the time change. Nice that your computer is covered under the Geek Squad plan and you do not have to pay every time it needs service.
Eddie have a good time today with your brothers. Nice that you got to see your grandchildren in their Halloween costumes and may get to spend time with Emerson today.
Wallyworld i hope the coming storm does not leave several inches of snow. Once the Lake Effect starts it can dump a lot of snow in a short time period. may one of the bucks Mr.WW spotted come into shooting range.
Hunts2long sorry to hear your knee is still a problem. Glad the family enjoyed your Goullash.
OldSailor I hope Chloe and Gandolf are getting along , May the house closing happen quickly so Michelle can get settled in before the coming Holidays.

I did a little research Sean Connery was the first actor to portray James Bond in  movies and is tied with Roger Moore for the number of films at seven for each actor. There are websites for everything found out Ian Fleming wrote Casino Royale in 1952 which had the first appearance of the James Bond Character .In 1954 there was a TV series here in the United States based on the novel starring the only American actor to play  the role of James Bond Barry Nelson. Sean Connery first played James Bond in the film Casino Royale which was released in 1962. There have been a couple remakes of the Casino Royale in the James Bond series. A total of nine actors have portrayed Mr.Bond mostly British with Barry Nelson and Austrialian actor George Lazenby rounding out the group.

Have a good Sunday,Welcome to November. Stay safe and healthy.  Best to all fishing and hunting.

Good Morning Everyone,
A cool windy day ahead, 31 at the moment won't reach 40 today.

Marv...think those winds are coming here today, gusts around 50 expected. Hopefully things are calming down for today's hunt and they're moving... best of luck!
Dave...thanks for sharing the chart, definitely some fishable ice!   Do you fish any of the smaller lakes around you?
Bud..have those keys surfaced yet?  :o
Jeff...like the half hour idea...set it and forget it!
Steve...thanks for the info on Sean Connery, he always played a great part.   Understand the new seat belt law carries a $50 fine for the offender not the driver.
H2...did you cheer the team on last evening? Hope you're feeling some relief today!
Wally... might be a repeat of Marvs outing for Mr.WW today with the wind... but you just never know!! Best of luck to him!

Had a nice get together with my brothers yesterday, 3 out of 4 made it. Pizza and wings, a few beers and lots of catching up...nice time.
Back to the marble today.....possibly, lol.    Cawfee's on!

Marv.........Good luck out there today. :flex:
H2l...........I hope your knee is feeling better, does your team have a back up member to cover if someone is out?
Wally.........Good luck if Mr. WW is out in the woods. :flex:
Dave.........Thanks for sharing the ice thickness chart, I guess they do that for the ice roads? ???
Steve.........No trick or treaters here, we are to rural.
Bud..........Sometimes not having TV is a good thing, how else would we get anything done. LOL :roflmao:
I had the rest of the leaves come off with the snow, so yesterday I got some of the them removed before the rain. I moved my pontoon
to where it will sit for the winter, still waiting for my tarps. The last tracking was in Syracuse NY. I just checked again and they will be here tomorrow.

I am up building my neighborhood famous Beef Stew.  Will share it at an Election evening with family and friends. ;D  See one huge raccoon has been visiting about this time of morning.

A breakfast with a friend, then off to work, is on tap for the balance of the day, then maybe vacuum up some leaves before the sun goes down.

A few warmer days before it turns north Sunday looks like in my forecast.

Hang in there Marv.

Good Morning. 30* and very windy.

Hope all you workers have a good week.

IW, the team could get a "sub" for bowling but we usually just take the missing bowlers avg. -10 pins.

WS, good luck out there today. I think I will be back into the hunt by Wed. maybe even Tuesday.

The knee is feeling much better this morning. I have a 9:40 appt to cash in my winning lotto ticket, it is not that much or I would share. Then an appt. to get one of the hearing aids repaired (I knew the mask and glasses were too much).
They are also coming today to finish hooking up the cold air return to the furnace.

Hope everyone has a good day and hang onto your hats....h2l

Glad I am not the only one who hates the time change, I wish we would just go to daylight savings time, since we are on it the longest, and leave it alone.  The state here passed a bill not to change the clocks, but I guess we have to wait for the surrounding states to see if they will or not.  Well guess I better get back to work, to much hunting and laying around and not getting the chores done is taking a toll on my want to work attitude. At least I got some firewood cut so that we can split it up, looks like the cooler ice making temps arrive here on Saturday, guess I better get cutting on elk before they freeze again in the shop and have to wait until April to cut them up.  Tight lines and glad everyone is doing ok around here.

Good morning like much of NY. and New England states I will see a windy day. The forecast high temperature is forty but will feel in the twenties with the wind chill. Also parts of the state are dealing with snow squalls. I'm currently seeing a few snow flurries. I went to vote yesterday visited two of the early voting locations in my county very long line people standing close together and rain falling so decide to wait until Tuesday.
Drifter thank you for the ice thickness chart. Any plans to get out on one of the lakes with thicker ice.
IFF may your first day back at work go well for you. Enjoy the beef stew tomorrow night.
Whopper Stopper may today be better on for you in the deer stand.
Eddie glad 3 of your brothers were able to get together with you and all had a good time. Hope you can get some marble installed today.
Ice Wanderer I think many parents are finding other activities for their children to do on Halloween ,when i live at the house it was a dead end street with a good sized housing development located across a state highway. The Last few years I lived there the only trick or treaters I saw where children of neighbors who lived on the street. May the traps arrive tomorrow and the weather allow you to cover the pontoon.
Wallyworld hope the snow total is on the low end for you.
Hunts2long good to hear your knee is doing better. May you be able to get the hearing aide repaired today. Enjoy the lottery ticket winnings.
Fish/hunt4ever always a struggle to get back into work mode after being away from the job.  There is one problem with having daylight Saving time year round school age children would be waiting for the school bus or walking to school in the dark. Back in the early 1970's when the United States was having a gas shortage the nation stayed on day Light Savings time I was just starting my Junior high school years and remember the sun not rising until I was at school. If my my memory is correct  i believe some states on the western edges  of our time zone  did not stay with DSl because of this concern.

Have a good day. Best to all fishing and hunting. To all dealing with high wind speeds may you see no property damage today.

Eddie
I usually fish several of the lakes in town but don't keep any of the fish as there are arsenic contamination issues due to a shut down gold mine in town.

No ice roads except for the Dettah road on these lakes. They are measured for local travel by foot and snowmobile. For the ice roads they wait until it's safe to travel by vehicle then they plow them and test thickness using ground penetrating radar to make sure it's safe for the public to drive on it. They have different weight ratings throughout the season so that drivers are kept safe. At it's thickest the weight rating is usually over 50 tons.

Good afternoon/evening everyone!

Yesterday my brother and a friend stopped in for a visit. My brother was hoping to shoot a doe if I had a spot for him to sit.

This morning I  put him in one of my doe stands and at 8am one came by and he got it. Man was he excited.
They are planning on heading home tomorrow some time.

As for me all has been quiet on the buck front. I still have 2 hours to go so hopefully they move tonight.

Hope everyone had a good day! Stay safe and healthy.

Well today was another adventure at work, while using a scanner to make missing price tags, was ask to jump on a register and should have known, yet another "Change" while I have not been there.  Didn't take too long and back in the swing of it.

H2L Thanks for sending the "House Ghost"  She found the keys in the dryer  :woot: :woot: :woot:     albeit the plastic/rubber where the split ring goes broke, my one part epoxy fixed it once I put new batteries in the UV light.

Good Morning Everyone,
  Welcome to Election Day 2020!
The winds are still howling here this am, 37 high of 39 today.

Bud...bet that was a nice surprise finding the keys, terrific!   Enjoy the stew tonight with your guests!
Marv... CONGRATULATIONS to you and your brother on his hunt, that is so awesome!!     Will be checking back in at break to see if lightning striked twice yesterday up in the bog! Best of luck today
Dave...thanks for the reply, never would have guessed any of your waters to be contaminated from the gold mining, wow, that sucks!   Showed the video you shared of the wolverine to a co-worker yesterday who was concerned about a fisher he saw on his property....was worried about it attacking his Doberman. His next question was.... do the fishers get that big, **censored**??   :woot:
Steve...looking forward to casting my vote today also. Being in a small rural town has its advantages sometimes... no long lines to deal with anyways!   ;D
FH4...hope you found the drive to take care of the butchering yesterday... enjoy those Elk steaks!
H2...Congratulations on your winnings, hope you're on the path of a Big Payday soon!     Great news on your knee, hope the furnace and hearing aid appointments go problem free today!
Wally... didn't get to see Emerson, but they did send a picture of him....dressed up as Simba from The Lion King,   ;D . Hope the snow stayed on the low side out your way....sorry another bike ride will have to wait, dang NY weather!   :%$#!:
Jeff..hopefully the winds won't be an issue today covering up your boat, best of luck with that!

Finger tips were tingling yesterday morning from the cold weather and marble... reminded me of ice fishing in way, lol.
The winds blew so hard at one point yesterday afternoon down at the workplace that a PortaPotty blew over ...good thing nobody was using it, lol, what a mess!  Would hate to be the poor guy cleaning up that $#%+ , Doh!!   :nono:
Time to get moving.... Cawfee's on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing & hunting!
