Yea he liked it but it was also a hot day on the ice last year so I think he is under the impression it can be like that when we go out. That’s why I bought the portable shack though.

Forgot to mention in my last post, I’ll bring some kind of food just don’t know what yet.

i just spoke to my daugther and she's ready to go again. i've gotta ask the wife if she's going to go this time, she had a good time last year but the ice moved under her feet and that freaked her a little bit. i'm going to be bringing both my nephews, my dad and a friend. i always have coffee and sugar on hand, just bring the mug.

I'm going to invite my boss and daughter. They have transplanted from Puerto Rico a few years ago or so, and are ready for the next level of New Englander training.

I'm going to be talking with Gary tomorrow and start planning other stuff for the outing. We're going to plan a time for a group photo, and he mentioned possibly having a clinic/demo on the ice.

Got to chat with Gary for a bit today.

The clinic/demo idea seems to be gaining interest quickly. They may already be working on it. Anything specific you guys want to see/discuss?
Also asked if we wanted to pull a permit and shoot for a tourney again. That's a possibility too.

The will definitely be a permit pulled for the tournmn again!

As for clinic/demo... I have always wanted to do a demo on how to get yourself out of the water in the event you go through. How 'bout it Bri? I'll cut a big a$$ hole with my Nils saw. We won't tell Kapt we're doing it and just push him in... I owe him anyways

I don't know about pushing your buddy into the water, but a demo of how to get yourself out of the water or even how to help another person would be really kind of neat. I liked to see you put that together...and what the heck, if you owe the Kapt one...

Heck, you don't have to ask me more than once.

Besides. What's the point of an ice rescue demo/clinic if it doesn't look and feel real? A little yelping and clawing at the ice (and a lot of words that cannot be repeated here) will help drive home the lesson.

I'm new to the forum as well, but I was probably going to swing by and soak a couple big baits and hang out for a bit, I can definitely bring some burgers or dogs if anyone has a grill with some extra room on it!

I will have my "headquarters" setup for everyone to stop in and take a peek. It is FULLY outfitted for multiple days on the ice and may give some people a couple ideas for their own setups.

The Team from CT-Outfitters will be out there all day. We are planning to demo some augers, some elctronics, a jiggin technique clinic and even do a live fish fry on the ice!
Also, if it turn "tourney" (BRI?) we've got some giftcards for prizes. I know its approaching fast, so we've got a little planning left to do. Stay tuned...
Also coming soon will be a schedule for the demos I mentioned above and a group photo op too.
And don't forget to stop in to 512 Silas Deane Hwy for your free dozen shiners for this event! Store Doors will open at 6am!

Gary, to make it easy on everyone, we can schedule the group photo during the jigging clinic or fish-fry. That will also let us get some live gear in the pic too.

I think you guys pulled the permit last year, but can do it if you need a hand. I'll edit the 1'st post and add in the activities section and post what you guys have so far. This is coming up quick. I haven't even been out yet.

@ hertzy: I don't think you need to be at the shop right at 6AM to get your dozen shiners.

I understand that, just messing around. I'm assuming the shop would close at some point, so they can get out on the ice. I think it's great that they are willing to give us bait, but not knowing when I'm going to get there, I'll just bring what I have in my tank. I usually have close to 2 dozen on hand.

If you want...I eat them from the river all the time. Mike and I saved a few pounds of fillets from our slaughter the other day. Gary will be cooking up a storm with a few different recipies.
