Hey Gents,

When you say mount it, how is a fish mounted, someone told me the fish is just a mold that is prepared based on original measurements. I have never ever thought to get a fish prepared.........I caught a 11 pound burbot 2 years ago and all I did was measure and weight it and take a couple pics. Then I threw it back. But I was told I could get a fish made from that.

Burbot, you can have a "replica mount" made based on your measurements and pictures.  You can google "fish replica mounts" and find lots of companies that make them.  It's a great way to get your trophy and still release the fish.

i've been told that burbot are really tough to skin mount, something to do with the oils in their skin.  as long as you have some measurements and good pictures a quality reproduction can be done.

Way to go Natwild and Ehrlichc, those are 2 dandy big pike. @)

It amazing what some lakes that will yield in terms of big fish. Some lake constantly produce trophies and in other lakes big fish numbers are alot lower but, still there is a
chance, and that's what keeps us fishin'. ;D
