I'm really happy with the feel of it. It seems light and there's a ton of room, in the tub and in height. Best part is the seat....It's very comfy, swivels and is higher off the ice than the chair I used for so many years. I had my trap for near 25 years. This feels like state of the art.

I'm going to put runners on the bottom and some raised runners for deep snow. I have some LED lights I'm working on that may just come out great. Cheap and effective.
I can't wait.

Good choice Bob...was looking at it myself but decided on the Shappell Rover 1 (between the Commando, Recon and the aforementioned). By the way...how'd you swing it with Santa in October?...I can't even get the Great Pumpkin to give me a Reeses Cup on Holloween...Enjoy!

For 39 years my Bride and I have had a deal. I'll buy my own Christmas present so she always gets me what I really want. ;D

Works for us!

Did Frabill figure out to waterproof those seat pads yet?

A buddy of mine got a ranger double a few years back when they first came out with the padded modular seat things, and if they got snow on them, they would get wet, and stay wet all day........  Maybe something to look at with that seat is spray it with some of that camp dry stuff.

"Made In China?"

What's your point?

The seat cushions/covers can be removed for cleaning. I discovered that when I put it together. I don't know if they're waterproof. How did the seats in your buddy's trap get that wet in the first place?

My guess is spilled beer..... ::) I wouldn't worry about the seat to much, very nice set up. Those Farbrill look like some nice houses.

Looks good RG, I still havent  had a chance to assemble mine. The knee is still sore and the wife is down to one arm for 4 weeks or so. It's taking everything just to keep the house running with 2 cripples and 3 dogs. You'll have to post your mods to give me some ideas to think about till I get a chance to put it together.

I have a ranger solo with the modular seating.  Love the seat, like a lazy boy.   I never had issues with it soaking up water though.     I am glad they came out with the smaller shack with the nice seating. My solo is nice, but big for a one man.

Nice set up, show some pics of how you modify it.

Slick looking flip rg. I'm shocked you didn't get a Clam though. You know, with all the nice banter and all on that thread. I could only imagine how stoked you are now. That's going to make the ice itch ten times worse for you.

Didn't have a cover for it and dragged it behind a quad for a mile or so, seats got full of snow, and the idiot part, didn't brush them off before starting the heater and going off to drill holes and set tip-ups, snow melted in the mean time, and he got wet.

I'm going to make a cover for mine. I made one for my old trap. I used a ripstop  nylon  shower curtain. THis one's got to be black. I have some decoration in mind. ;D

Nice shack rg!!!!!
I have always wanted a single man flip over for when my daughter didn't go with me but then my son came into this world and now he goes with me. So probably for another 8 or 10 years I will need a two man shack.
Good looking rig!!!!
Take Care and God Bless

How much width do you have on that sucker? I hate having to drill two holes 6" apart just so they fit inside a shanty. I like mine 10-12" apart (one jigger one dead stick) and I cant seem to find a good flipover that will allow that.

I always fish 2 holes in the trap. The specs say the fishable area is 50" x 33". It's at least as wide as my old Fish Trap. It feels right. Time will tell.

I sold my scout and picked this one up because I started to use 30" and 36" noodles and I was losing fish setting the hook and brushing the tip against the front or roof.
